Turmalina Metals started as a well-funded private company in 2017 with the aim of locating high-quality copper-gold assets in South America. Our projects need to meet our strict criteria of demonstrated high grades, compelling drill targets, a clear path to resource growth and mining-friendly jurisdictions.
Turmalina is the result of over 100 years of combined experience in both exploration for copper-gold breccias and exploration in South America.
founding geologists: Doug Kirwin, Chico Azevedo & Rohan Wolfe
For two years we reviewed hundreds of projects and made dozens of field visits. At the end of two years there were only two projects that all members of our team agreed were truly exceptional: San Francisco in Argentina and Turmalina in Peru.
Having acquired these projects our team has grown over the past year to build industry-leading capabilities in exploration, environment, community, administration and mining, as well as building highly-skilled local teams through our Argentinian subsidiary Aurora Mining and our Peruvian subsidiary Aurora Copper Peru.
Community & sustainability
We operate in regions with good infrastructure among communities that have supported previous mining. We aspire to become a leading example of how an exploration company can work together with the local community, with mutual communication, respect and understanding, to build sustainable projects
Outstanding growth potential
With compelling drill-targets already defined we aim to leverage our extensive experience with this deposit style: quickly and economically building a portfolio of desirable high-grade gold-copper-molybdenum resources that may be further developed by either ourselves or by mid-tier or major mining companies.
